Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla continues to be a hot potato

Quite a lot of news regarding Legendary Pictures’ upcoming American Godzilla film dropped today. Cliff notes version:

-Two producers, Dan Lin and Roy Lee, left the project.

-Frank Darabont has been hired to rewrite the script. (I’m pretty psyched about this; The Mist was one of the best monster movies of recent years, and Walking Dead suffered horrendously when Darabont was kicked off.)

-Filming starts in March in Hawaii.

At least director Gareth Edwards is still committed (for better or worse), so hopefully the “2012 American Godzilla” won’t become a repeat of the “1994 American Godzilla” when it comes to setbacks.
