Knights of Sidonia gets anime

Knights of Sidonia, a manga about bioengineered humans piloting robots to fight space monsters in the far future (not to be confused with the Muse song), is getting an anime adaptation according to the latest issue of Afternoon magazine. This seems reasonable, as it’s one of author Tsutomu Nihei’s most accessible works (more than Blame or Biomega, anyway), but it’s still the sort of high concept, weird stuff that would lend itself more to an OVA or movie than TV format. Details are sparse, so it will be interesting to see what comes of the project.
