Digital Manga partners with Tezuka Pro for entire library

Digital manga’s kickstarter campaigns for Osamu Tezuka’s manga Swallowing the Earth, Barbara, Unico, ATomcat, and Triton have gone well, but it still comes as a surprise to hear that they’ve partnered up with Tezuka Pro to become the primary distributer of Tezuka’s entire library in English. Apparently, they’ll be doing it digitally (so we’ll finally have a use for all of those emanga gift card that came with the kickstarted books), before doing kickstarter campaigns for print editions (if other publishers aren’t already printing them). If this means more Tezuka titles on the market, it could be a good thing, but I’m a little trepidatious over a monopoly; after all, comiXology was supposed to release all of Ishimori’s manga, and that faded away after four and a half series.
